The principal of Heilongjiang Vocational and Technical College, Beiming Meng, has been a supporting participant of our Summit for the past 5 years. This year on April 25 and April 26, he was accompanied by the organizers of the Summit as he visited four kindergarten and primary schools throughout the Southern California region. Among those schools are Viewpoint School, Holy Angels School, Del Mar Pines School and the Gillispie School of San Diego.

Founded in 1961, Viewpoint School spans over 40 acres in the scenic foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, providing education from levels of kindergarten to twelfth grade. The school offers an exceptional environment for students to grow, to learn, and to succeed. Viewpoint is home to 1,200 students, making it the largest K-12 independent school in Southern California. The school prides itself in promoting respect, integrity, responsibility, and optimism among its students.

Holy Angels School is a ministry of Holy Angels Parish, located in Arcadia. The School is committed to educating children in mind, body, and soul. The Holy Angels’ academics and co-curricular programs emphasize social responsibility, the importance of physical and mental health, and a profound respect for the dignity of life and for the world in which we live.

Del Mar Pines is one of San Diego’s best private elementary schools. Founded in 1978, the school is dedicated
to providing students with excellent academic programs and a nurturing environment with close student-teacher
relationships. Del Mar Pines School prepares students for success both personally and academically. Upon finishing their education at Del Mar Pines, students will have become independent and confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic, responsible and compassionate.

The Gillispie School is also located in San Diego, enrolling 300 students from ages two through twelve. The campus includes a fine arts center, science lab, library and gymnasium. The Gillispie School believes that in order to be positive contributors to society, students should become life-long learners and critical thinkers. Principal Meng is currently conducting a comprehensive assessment of the schools. After choosing his desired institution, he will begin further communication with the school via the help of the Summit.
